China Finance 40 Forum (CF40), the Euro 50 Group and the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) jointly held a webinar themed “The Dollar, the Euro and the Renminbi in the New Geopolitical Environment” on March 27th, 2021. The event featured two sessions with senior policymakers and prominent scholars from China, Europe and North America jointly exploring monetary management of the three blocks and international monetary cooperation in the post-pandemic era.
The first session examined the post-COVID 19 macroeconomic environment globally, the recovery trajectory of each region and related monetary and fiscal policy issues.
The second session proceeded to explore the scope for international monetary cooperation among the three blocks in this new environment with various constraints, and how to promote global monetary and financial stability.
This trilateral dialogue series started in 2015 and takes place on an annual basis. By pooling wisdom of leading figures in the global economic and financial community, it aims to promote candid and in-depth exchange on the most critical economic issues and contribute to well-informed policymaking.
