In November, 2019, the China Finance 40 Forum (CF40) led a delegation to the US and carried out its annual exchange program with the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE).
On November 6th, the two think tanks jointly held the fifth annual China Economic Forum in Washington D.C., discussing topics on China's financial innovation and Sino-US economic relations.
The forum consisted of two expert panels: the first covered issues related to the development of China's financial system and its impact on the Chinese economy, while the second focused on the rules of engagement in dealing with the US-China trade conflict. The English version of The 2019 Jingshan Report, a major policy report that identifies and addresses critical issues facing the Chinese economy which was launched by CF40, was also released at the forum.
From November 4th to 8th, the CF40 delegation paid visits to think tanks, government and media agencies as well as international organizations in Washington D.C. and New York including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Office of the US Trade Representative, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Department of Commerce, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Brookings Institution and Bloomberg. The delegation also met with Former Fed Reserve Vice Chair Stanley Fischer, former USTR Charlene Barshefsky and former Fed governor Kevin Warsh, among others. The meetings featured discussions on global governance, world economy and the future of China-US relations.
