The Shanghai Finance Institute (SFI) held the 2019 China-US Dialogue on Fintech with US experts in Washington D.C. on June 17th, focusing on the latest trend of cutting-edge financial technology.
Joined by global experts, regulatory officials and market participants in the Fintech field, the seminar first discussed the development of payment industry in China and the United States and how technology innovation, in particular big data, reshapes payment services by improving customer experience, optimizing procedures and transforming business models. They also shared experiences on Fintech regulation in the two countries.
The seminar was part of SFI's annual Fintech exchange program with the US, which brings together regulators and practitioners in the two countries to discuss the latest and most urgent issues to be addressed in the field of new finance.
Following the seminar, Chinese participants paid a visit to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and had exchange with representatives from the offices of innovation policy and AI policy on a series of issues ranging from consumer information protection, regulatory "sand box", to artificial intelligence policy and the role of big data.
