In January, 2019, the China Finance 40 Forum (CF40) paid its regular annual visit to the US. As part of the exchange program, CF40 and the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) held the Fourth China Economic Forum with two symposia, one on January 23rd in Washington D.C., and one on Jan 24th in New York City.
The themes of the symposia were "China-US Relations and the Global Economic System" and "Rebuilding or Decoupling: China-US Financial Relations at a Crossroads", respectively. Leading economists from China and the US attended the conferences.
During their stay in the D.C., the CF40 delegation also paid visits to think tanks, government agencies, and international organizations in Washington DC and NYC, including the USTR, New York Fed, The Heritage Foundation, The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, The Peterson Institute for International Economics, The Center for Strategic and International Studies, Cato Institute, Asia Society, Eurasia Group, and Council on Foreign Relations. At the meetings, CF40 experts exchanged views with US officials and scholars on prospects of the two economies and bilateral economic and trade relations. CF40 management also discussed with their US counterparts the operational model and development prospects of US think tanks.
