On Sept 16th 2017, China Finance 40 Forum (CF40), Euro50 Group (Euro50), and the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) jointly hosted a symposium in Beijing with the theme "China-EU-North America Strategies in the New Globalization Era". Financial regulators, industry leaders, and academics from the three regions discussed the new trend of globalization and its potential consequences on trade, currency, movements of labor and capital, and analyzed coping strategies in this new environment.
During their stay in Beijing, European and US economists also paid visits to China's governmental departments, financial agencies and institutions including the People's Bank of China, the then China Banking Regulatory Commission, China Securities Regulatory Commission, State Administration of Foreign Exchange, and Economic Research Institute at the National Development and Reform Commission. Experts at the meeting had in-depth exchanges on China's economic growth and reform, financial sector opening and RMB internationalization.
