During May 6 to May 10, 2017, CF40 and PIIE carried out their annual exchange program in Beijing and Tianjin.
The 6th CF40-PIIE Economists' Symposium took place in Beijing on May 7 with a theme on Sino-US Economic Relations and Globalization under the New US Administration. At the Symposium, experts had discussions around prospects of and challenges facing Sino-US trade and investment relationship, and impacts of US economic policy adjustment.
During their stay in China, the PIIE delegation paid visits to China's financial authorities, including the People's Bank of China, the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, National Development and Reform Commission.
As part of the exchange program, dinner functions were held on the evenings of May 6 and May 10 in Beijing and Tianjin. At these meetings, experts from the two sides exchanged views around the themes of "Addressing Slowing Potential Growth in the US and China" and "The New Global Financial Safety Net: Searching for Coherent Governance in a Multi-Polar System".
