On December 18, 2016, CF40 held a seminar on the international practice and implications of personal information protection.
The seminar kicked off with a keynote speech by Wang Xiaolei, Deputy Director-General of PBOC’s Credit Research Center. Wang was followed by Wu Xiaoling, CF40 Advisor and Vice Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee of the National People’s Congress,Yang Kaisheng, CF40 Guest Speaker and former President of ICBC, and Wan Cunzhi, Director-General of PBOC’s Credit Information System Bureau. Attendees then had discussions on the various approaches of protecting personal information, individual rights and institutional responsibilities, as well as challenges facing personal information protection in the era of big data.
Also attending the seminar were Guo Kai, Deputy Director-General of PBOC’s International Department, Li Wenhong, Director-General of the Banking Innovation Supervision Department of the CBRC, and Zheng Jingping, Deputy Commissioner of National Bureau of Statistics, among other experts.
The seminar was moderated by Wang Haiming, CF40 Secretary-General.
