On June 22, 2014, CF40 and Nomura Research Institute (NRI) jointly held the Third CF40-NRI Finance Roundtable with the theme The Economies of China and Japan: Opportunities and Risks in the Next Decade. The Roundtable consisted of two sessions.
At the first session, Prof. Huang Yiping, CF40 member and Deputy Dean of the National School of Development at Peking University, Mr. Hajime Takata, Chief Economist at Mizuho Research Institute, and Mr. Wei Jianing from the Development Research Center of the State Council delivered keynote speeches respectively on the topics of The Mechanism, Impact and Risks of China's Economy Transformation, Structural Issues and Coping Strategies for Japanese Economy, and Comparison between Chinese and Japanese Local Debts.
At the second session, Dr. Gao Shanwen, Chief Economist at Essence Securities, C.H.Kwan, Senior Fellow at the Nomura Institute of Capital Markets Research, Mr. Nobuyuki Kinoshita, Executive Director at Bank of Japan, delivered keynote speeches on Housing Price and the Real Estate Sector in China, Japan's Asset Bubble and Lessons on Macro Economic Policy, and Significance of the Improvement of Enterprise Bankruptcy Regulations to the Stability of Financial System.
Following the keynote speeches, attendees had in-depth discussions on the development of real estate markets in China and Japan. The Roundtable was moderated by Mr. Wang Haiming, CF40 Secretary-General.
