From May 19 to 25, 2015, China Finance 40 Forum (CF40) and the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) jointly carried out their annual exchange program in Beijing and Shanghai.
On May 23 and 24, the two think tanks held the 4th China-US Economists Symposium in Beijing. The theme of this year's Symposium was A New Pattern of Sino-US Economic Relations. Under a broad theme of trade and investment, the conference focused on discussions of diverging monetary policies, global investment including the Belt and Road Initiative, the role of Internet finance in the Chinese and European financial systems, and the future of trade agreements between China and the United States.
During their stay in Beijing, the PIIE delegation met with Chinese experts from government departments and financial agencies, including the People's Bank of China, China Securities Regulatory Commission, the Development Research Center of the State Council and China Investment Corporation where they had exchanges on issues such as global growth and the trade relations between China and the US.
As part of the exchange program, CF40 and PIIE also co-hosted luncheons in Beijing and Shanghai under the themes of "Process of Market-Oriented SEO Reforms" and "The Rise of Large Enterprises and Wealth Management Innovation in Developing Countries".
