On July 9, 2019, the China Finance 40 Forum (CF40) and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange Research Center (SAFERC) jointly hosted a seminar on "The Reform and Development of China's Foreign Exchange Management" in Beijing. Besides foreign exchange management and RMB exchange rate mechanism, participants also shared discussions over the recently announced cryptocurrency by Facebook which has captured worldwide attention.
Lu Lei, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), and Lin Jingzhen, Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBoC), first delivered the opening remarks, followed by two keynote speeches from Chen Yuan, Chairman of CF40 Executive Council and Vice-Chairman of the 12th National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Zhou Xiaochuan, former Governor of PBoC and current President of China Society for Finance and Banking.
The first session was moderated by Wang Haiming, Secretary-General of CF40.
The second session was moderated by Ding Zhijie, a member of CF40, and featured Li Yang, former Deputy Director of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhang Xiaohui, CF40 Senior Fellow, Xie Ping, Vice-Chairman of CF40 Executive Committee, Huang Yiping, Chairman of CF40 Academic Committee and Director of the Institute of Digital Finance (IDF) at Peking University (PKU), Wang Guogang, Professor of Fiscal and Financial Department of Renmin University, as well as Wang Xin, Director of the PBoC Research Bureau, who delivered keynote speeches, respectively.
This event is the first seminar organized by SAFERC. It is also the first event co-hosted by CF40 and SAFERC.
