On July 15, 2017, CF40 hosted the 187th biweekly roundtable in Beijing, with the theme ‘Cross-Border Capital Flows, RMB Internationalization and FX Market Development’. China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) was the cohost of the seminar.
In the first half of the seminar, Guan Tao, CF40 Senior Fellow presented the research finding on the new normal of cross-border capital flows and development of domestic and international FX markets. Huo Yingli, CF40 Invited Guest and Director-General of the Monetary Policy Department II at People’s Bank of China (PBoC), and Guo Song, CF40 Invited Guest and Director-General of the Capital Account Management Department at State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) commented on the research.
During the second half of the seminar, Guan Tao made a presentation on the proposal for a new research project titled Foreign Exchange Derivatives Market and RMB Internationalization. Following the presentation, Yan Shaoming, CF40 Invited Guest and Deputy-Director of the Futures Department at China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), and Zhang Yi, CF40 Council Member Representative and Vice President at China Foreign Exchange Trade Center shared their views and advice on the research project.
CF40 Secretary-General Wang Haiming chaired the meeting.
