On August 13th, 2016, China Finance 40 Forum (CF40) held a roundtable discussion on the internationalization of the Renminbi.
In the first half of the session, CF40 senior fellow Guan Tao delivered a keynote speech titled "The Past and Prospect of RMB Internationalization: A Cost-Benefit Analysis". The speech was followed by comments from Zhu Jun, CF40 invited guest and Director-General of the International Department at the People's Bank of China; Xu Luode, Vice President of the Bank of China; and Peng Wensheng, CF40 member and visiting scholar at Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
During the second half of the session, participants discussed the political and economic analysis of RMB internationalization, the sustainable development of the process, and the general cost and benefits of currency internationalization, etc.
The session was held by CF40 in collaboration with the Shanghai Finance Institute (SFI) and the Northern Finance Institute (NFI). CF40 Secretary-General Wang Haiming chaired the discussion.
